National Pilot License Requirements
The NPL is similar to the PPL in training, however the minimum required hours are slightly less than that of the PPL. This licence allows the qualified pilot to fly in fair weather conditions and within the borders of South-Africa carrying passengers and not for remuneration. Due to the fact that this course is shorter than the PPL and can be done on light sport aircraft it makes it cost effective way to enjoy the allure of flight!
Initial Requirements :
35 hrs flight training of which 15 hrs will be Solo
Course duration: 2-3 months full-time
Minimum Class 4 Medical Certificate
Principles of flight
Engines, Airframes and Instruments
Human performance limitations
Restricted radio licence
The skills test to complete the NPL will include a practical examination and a ground assessment of all the knowledge you have gained during the course.
